Municipal Court
The December 31, 2025 closure of the Cosmopolis Police Department does not affect the operations of the Cosmopolis Municipal Court. Citations issued by the Aberdeen Police Department in the City of Cosmopolis will be filed in the Cosmopolis Municipal Court. The court continues to operate 100% remotely and all hearings will be conducted via Zoom. Infraction hearings may be conducted by mail (see below for more information). The court administrator may be contacted by phone or email only; no in-person services are available. The court phone is voicemail only and is not monitored daily. The court email is monitored daily. All correspondence, including requests for hearings and court payments, must be mailed to the court PO Box listed below. Payments can also be made via nCourt (see below for more information).

INFRACTION HEARINGS BY MAIL - DEFERRED FINDING PROGRAM
Defendants who have been issued a Notice of Infraction have the option to adjudicate their case by mail. Please download the appropriate form below and email or mail it to court within 30 days of receipt of your citation. Please include your signed copy of the citation and any documentation you would like the judge to review. If you would like to be considered for a deferred finding, please also check that box on the form. CDL holders do not qualify for a deferred finding. Out of state license holders must agree to file a copy of their state driving record at the beginning and end of the deferred finding period.

City hall will not accept payments for the court on your behalf. Do not use the city hall drop box for court business.

Payments can also be mailed to the court at the address above. Please be sure to clearly mark your full name, citation number(s) and a phone number in case we have any questions. If you believe your account may be delinquent, please contact the court prior to making your payment on nCourt. Payments received for accounts that have been assigned to collections will be rejected by the court and you will need to pay directly to the collection agency. Any fees charged by nCourt for rejected payments are not refunded to the payor.

Request a Payment Plan
Pursuant to RCW 46.63, you may enter into a payment plan if: you are not able to pay the fine in full; you have not previously been given a payment plan for this financial obligation; and the Court has not obtained a judgement on the debt. The Court sets the minimum payment for all payment plans. If you are not able to make the minimum payment you may be eligible for reduced payments. Please email the court at court@cosmopoliswa.gov if you would like to request a payment plan application. The court may require verification of your financial status.
